It all started in the ninth grade when my arms began to grow at an alarming rate, closely followed by an equally obnoxious growth in my legs. I spent countless nights losing sleep as the stretching pains shot through my muscles to the bone- leaving post-puberty me with awkwardly long arms and legs and a pretty short torso. Not to mention, I towered over most of my Asian acquaintances and I felt like I stuck […]
Woah, there. Yes- I said “femininity, not feminists”. But to understand why, let’s just start here. Sometimes I wake up and roll out of bed to groggily stick a tooth brush in my mouth ASAP. Just as the electric spin rattles my brain awake, I always find myself staring into my reflection. Now, this isn’t a poetic, emotional journey like it is in Mulan- instead it’s a “who are you” with a snarky sideways glance […]
It’s closing in on the time of the year when college kids begin to flock back to campus after a summer of friends, fun, and far-away adventures. And, just like New Year’s resolutions, most of us resolve to change something for the imminent school year- hopefully, this list inspires you too.

I could say that I’m an experienced weight-lifter (haha no), but that’d be a seasoned stretch of the imagination. However, I’ve been heavily lifting since December 2015- approximately 1.5 years ago. Thanks to my super athletic, form-critical, and lovingly protective boyfriend, I’ve learned how to properly challenge myself and make sure that I’m not feeding any future injuries with unhealthy habits.
I’d never been in a healthy relationship before I met Jake, my current boyfriend. Though we’ve only been officially dating since January 2016, I feel like I’ve known him forever. Even still, here are some of the things that he’s taught me about myself and life in general as we’ve tackled life together.
You know who you are. You know because we’ve laughed together, yelled from room-to-room together, crawled in each other’s beds together, and always over-analyzed boys together. This one’s for you.
